Rich graduated from Cimarron High School in 1966 and went on to Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where he graduated in 1970 with a B.A. in business. He has many years of experience in the crop insurance industry becoming a licensed agent in 1986. Rich has lived in Lawrence since 1992.
